The gist of me:
Hello, I’m Wade.
I’m a full-time fiance, a full-time worker (certified engineer-in-training), a part-time graduate student, full-time worrier, full-time cartoonist (or cartoon hobbyist: Tail Fin Comics), and full-time environmentalist.
I’m an environmental engineer(in-training). I have a few more years to go until I’m a bona-fide engineer. Well, a few more years and a humungous test. I love the environment, and I want to help it. However, I understand current limitations in technology, which gives me an interesting viewpoint on environmental pollution.
I love music. All types. Some more than others. My journey through music has led me to listen to many different genres.
First popular question: Do you play any instruments? Answer: Sure, I can.
Second popular question: Can you play them well? Answer: Not really. I know a few very, very, very ,very easy songs. That’s it.
Third popular question: What instruments do you not play well? Answer: Trombone, Harmonica, Guitar, and Ukulele.
I’d also consider myself a full-time techie. I love all types of (preferably newer) technology. While I won’t turn this into a tech website, I will, however, report on new and upcoming cool products and services. Being the geek I am, I’m going to list out a few of the cool things I own: Apple MacBook Pro (laptop), Apple iMac (desktop), (very, very old) HP Pavilion laptop, Dell Latitude laptop (work), Apple iPhone, BlackBerry Curve (work), over 2.5 TB of storage space (including hard drives), two monitors (including the iMac screen), TV on my iMac through Elgato’s EyeTV, various Apple iPods (some have been decommissioned), Kodak Zi8 digital video camera, and Canon EOS IX dSLR.
I also love my 2009 Subaru Forester. I’ve owned 2 cars in the past: a 1992 Nissan Sentra and a 1999 VW Passat. I loved the Sentra, and I had a love-hate relationship with the Passat. The Nissan was a hardy car that lasted until the second transmission break. After that, I searched eagerly for a VW Passat, which I’ve always wanted. After I bought one, I started realizing the true cost of owning a German car with problems. The car was awesome in every sense of the word. The interior was comfy, the engine was spectacular, the sound of the turbo was thrilling, the moonroof was cool, and the repair bills were astronomical. After only one year, I eagerly traded my Passat in for what money I could get out of it–the check engine light was on when I took it to the dealership. I bought my first NEW car–the Subie.
Now, here I am, writing a blog and trying to get my thoughts out of my head.
I found this online integrity petition, so I will try to abide by it. I just wish the image wasn’t so overbearing. (That’s why it’s on this page and not the homepage.).
